Study of Centralized Communication Platform in Newark: A Further Assessment of Leadership Newark’s Economic Development Proposal

This presentation assesses the strengths and weaknesses of creating a centralized communication platform to tackle the issue of rapid gentrification and business development in the City of Newark. The platform aims to break away from communication silos affecting the Newark community during its wave of rapid economic growth.

The original proposal was designed by the team I co-led, the Economic Thinkers, as our final product for the Community Leadership Initiative (CLI) for Leadership Newark.

Memo: Proposal for Community Zero-waste Center (CZC) in Newark

This proposal aims to provide residents with access to affordable goods while diverting waste from landfills and promoting environmental practices.

The proposal, research plan, survey measures, and prototype are inspired by research on zero-waste recycling policies and the adoption of circular economies in urban cities.

ArcGIS Mapping: Income Inequalities and Criminal Trespasses in Chicago

This map utilizes crime and economic level datasets in Chicago (2017) to highlight the spatial distribution and clusters of criminal trespasses and the city’s income inequalities.

Maps such as these, are an effective means of communication for conveying a large volume of data to a wide audience.
